Formation
Godan shift to the お-row + う (書く -> 書こう, 買う -> 買おう); ichidan drop る + よう (食べる -> 食べよう); する -> しよう, 来る -> 来よう.
Explanation
The volitional expresses intention or invitation in casual speech, and is the base of よう と思う ('I think I'll') and よう にする ('make an effort to').
