つもり / ようと思う
Mentioning a plan you have not fully committed to.
Verb ようと思う vs Verb つもり: Use ようと思う. It presents the intention as a current thought, so it leaves room to change your mind and sounds less presumptuous when the plan involves other people. つもり states a settled intention and can come across as a decision already taken.
つもりだ / つもりで
The intention has to lead into another clause rather than end the sentence.
～つもりで vs ～つもりだ: Use つもりで: 一日で終わらせるつもりで始めた. つもりだ closes a sentence and cannot be followed by a main clause. Same meaning, different slot, and the wrong one simply will not attach.
