Explanation

The ～というの〜 grammar point is used to provide an explanation or emphasize the reason for a certain situation or action. It can be translated as 'the reason is that...', or 'it's because...'.

Example sentences

• 遅刻したのは、電車が遅れたというのだ。

  The reason I was late is because the train was delayed.

  Chikoku shita no wa, densha ga okureta to iu no da.
