Verb-ますstem + 次第, Noun + 次第

Expresses 'as soon as' (when used with Verb-ますstem) or 'depending on' (when used with a noun).

When to use

"As soon as" with a ます-stem verb - a different construction from the others (also separately means "depending on" when attached to a noun).

Explanation

The grammar pattern ～次第 can mean 'as soon as' when used with a verb in its ます-stem, and 'depending on' when used with a noun. For instance, 仕事が終わり次第 (as soon as work finishes) or 天気次第 (depending on the weather).
