Formation

Verb-て form + みる

Used to express 'try to' or 'attempt to do'.

When to use

て + みる: try doing it to see how it goes (食べてみる).

Explanation

The ～てみる grammar point is used with verbs to express 'trying' or 'attempting' to do something. It emphasizes the idea of giving something a go or trying it out, often to see what the results or outcome will be.

この料理りょうりを作つくってみます。

I will try to make this dish.

Kono ryouri o tsukutte mimasu.
その服ふくを着てみてください。
