もし + Verb-て form + も / もし + い-Adjective(く) + ても / もし + な-Adjective/Noun + でも

Express a hypothetical situation or assumption with the nuance of 'even if'.

When to use

Pairs もし with ても - a plain hypothetical "even if".

Explanation

The もし～ても grammar point is used to describe a situation in which even if the stated condition is true, the result or decision does not change. It can be translated as 'even if', 'no matter if', or 'suppose ~'.

Example sentences

もし雨あめが降ふっても、ピクニックに行いきます。

Even if it rains, we will go on a picnic.

Moshi ame ga futtemo, pikunikku ni ikimasu.
もし彼かれが謝あやまっても、まだ怒おこっているでしょう。

Even if he apologizes, I will still be angry.

Moshi kare ga ayamattemo, mada okotteiru deshou.
